ABOUT DR. FAGAN

Dr. M. James Fagan, III, is one of Atlanta’s leading practitioners in the field of dental implants, neuromuscular dentistry, craniomandibular-TMJ pain dysfunction, cosmetic and general dentistry.

Dr. Fagan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

He is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and received his M.S. in Human Anatomy from Emory University. Recently, he was the President of the Southern District of the AAID and has served on the Board of Trustees for the AAID from 1999-2001. Currently, he is on the Board of Directors for the AAID Research Foundation and was the Annual Meeting Chairman for the 54th session of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, "The Essence of Regeneration," held in Scottsdale, Arizona in October 2005.

Dr. Jim Fagan LLC is the director of the Atlanta Oral Implantology center and has been using dental implants in conjunction with cosmetic dentistry to create new smiles since 1981. “My goal has been to develop a comprehensive implant, cosmetic and general practice to improve and create a lost smile.”

Dr. Jim Fagan is a member of several academies and committees. He is past Chairman of the Implant Registry Committee for the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and past President of the Atlanta Craniomandibular Society (ACS). He has co-formed a National Implant Registry in conjunction with the Department of the VA, the National Institute of Dental Research, the American Academy of Prosthodontics, the American Academy of Periodontology, the U.S. Army and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Atlanta Craniomandibular Society.

Among other accomplishments, Dr. Jim Fagan has formed a National Implant Retrieval and Registry Service at the Medical College of Georgia. He is also a Fellow and Diplomate of the International College of Oral Implantology. Dr. Fagan’s work has been published in “Implant Prosthodontics, Surgical and Prosthetic Techniques for Dental Implants,” a textbook released in 1990, as well as other professional journals to include the Journal of Oral Implantology. He has lectured worldwide on various topics on dental implant reconstruction to include The Royal Society of Medicine, London, Hong Kong, Milan, Paris and U.S. He is a founding member of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics and also has joint U.S. and international patents on dental implants with his father, Dr. Maurice J. Fagan, Jr.

Dr. Jim Fagan is director of the Atlanta Oral Implantology Center (www.drfagan.net), which is one of the oldest implant practices in the south. His expertise is Full Mouth Reconstruction utilizing Dental Implants and Computerized Neuromuscular Techniques as needed to correct TMJ pain/MPD Dysfunction as well as Cosmetic and General Dentistry.

Rebecca is originally from Georgia. She has been with Dr. Fagan for over six years. Rebecca attended the Medix School, where she earned her Expanded Duties Certification. Rebecca started out as a Dental Assistant with Dr. Fagan in 1999, and since then, has become the office coordinator. Rebecca, her husband, Ron, and their child, Tyler, reside in Marietta.

OFFICE POLICIES

 

Our Goal
Our goal has been to develop a comprehensive implant, cosmetic and general dental practice to improve and create a lost smile. Loss of teeth means change in facial contours, nutrition problems, speech difficulties and a variety of continued problems. Retaining your teeth is necessary for good nutrition, speech and appearance. Dr. Fagan offers a wide number of implant, cosmetic and general dental services to meet your dental needs.

Appointments
Appointments can be scheduled during 9-5 Mon-Thrs. For a routine cleaning and checkup, our office will do its best to schedule you within 10 days. We now have appointments on Monday and Wednesday for cleanings. Call (404) 255-5006.

Insurance
Our office processes all insurance claims without charge. Forms and e-claims are processed daily. Please bring insurance forms with you at the time of your first visit.

Also, if you have dental insurance, please bring your completed signed forms and your explanation of benefits. Our insurance coordinator will be glad to review your policy benefits. In some instances, major medical insurance may apply toward implant and TMJ treatment.
